Borovo Treasure
Borovo Treasure
6th Century BCE
The invaluable silver Borovo treasure consists of five vessels with ornamental gilt: a bowl, a jug, and three rhytons. It is considered that only the bowl was created by a local jewellery master. The items of the Borovo treasure portray the myth and ritual of the ancient Thracians. Furthermore, due to the engravings on the rythons and the jug, the archaeologists believe that the Borovo silver treasure had been given as a gift to the local Thracian ruler, Katis of Beos.
